“I found your journal.”
“My what?” Clark looked genuinely puzzled.
“Your journal. I guess your mom gave it to you.”
The light turned on in Clark’s head. “You found my journal? In the back corner of the closet, under an old box of weights, beneath the carpet, standing on end and wrapped in burlap? That journal?”
“I was snooping. It’s what I do.”
